When it comes to orthodontic care, dental insurance tends to cover it differently compared to other types of dental services. Usually, a dental insurance plan will cover a percentage of a treatment, but this often isn’t the case when it comes to orthodontics. With many plans, there is a set amount of money put aside for each person that can be used towards orthodontic care. Thankfully, this amount is normally a sizeable portion of the overall fee.
As we touched on above, most dental insurance plans will pay a fixed amount of money towards a patient’s orthodontic treatment. However, some plans will only cover treatment for patients age 18 and under, meaning if someone is an adult or wants Invisalign, they won’t be covered. This isn’t true for every plan, so it’s wise to look over your policy and see what specific benefits apply to orthodontics.
Our office accepts most PPO dental insurance plans, meaning we’re able to maximize our patient’s savings and make the reimbursement process as efficient as possible. You’ll find a list of our accepted plans below, and if you don’t see your provider, go ahead and give us a call with your policy—we may still be able to use it to help you pay for your treatment!
